This scroll saw replacement pack comes with 18 blades (6 of each). The end of each blade is a pin type, and the blades are 5" in length.

The three types of blades included in this pack are:

  • No. 41101 regular tooth, 0.100" width, 0.018" kerf, 15 TPI for medium turns in wood 3/32" to 1/2" thick.
  • No. 41201 regular tooth, 0.100" width, 0.018" kerf, 10 TPI for medium turns in wood 1/4" to 1" thick.

This kit is full of goodies that could give your car the edge: a premium balsa wood blank (very lightweight), attractive chrome wheels, super-fast acetal axles, low-friction axle tubes, and nylon washers.

The kit includes the standard supplies: sandpaper, a CO2 cartridge, a pair each of standard and long screw eyes, and a sheet of Pitsco decals. Students use this kit to complete an exciting vehicle design project that culminates in a race competition, much like the Metric Dragster activity. Wide body blanks (3" x 3" x 12") allow for car designs that are closer to production-car proportions.

More emphasis can be placed on car styling and learning the industrial design process than on car performance. The activity can be a follow-up to a clay car design project (clay materials and tools sold separately).

The official blank for creating F1 cars measures 223 mm x 65 mm x 50 mm and contains a predrilled hole for the CO2 cartridge. It is created with a new material that has a consistent weight and density, and it is more robust and durable than the previously used balsa wood blank.
